Most of what we throw away from a cleaning cupboard is not the cleaner. It is the bottle. A refill routine keeps the bottle in use and only replaces what actually runs out.
Start with bottles you like
A refill routine only works if you want to keep the bottle. Ours are made from a sturdy, matte material with a trigger or pump that is built to be opened and closed many times. Pick the bottles you use every week first: an all-purpose spray, dish soap and hand soap are the usual three.
Keep one pouch per formula
Bulk pouches hold several refills each and store flat in a cupboard. When a bottle is nearly empty, unscrew the top, pour slowly from the pouch spout and close both tightly. Keep each pouch with the bottle it belongs to so formulas do not get mixed.
Refill little and often
Topping up before a bottle is completely empty keeps the pump primed and means you are never left without soap halfway through the washing up. A quick check on the same day each week is enough for most homes.
Rinse when you change scent
If you switch from Citrus Oasis to Woodlands, rinse the bottle with warm water and let it dry first. Otherwise there is no need to wash the bottle between refills of the same formula.
